Explanation of Room Types
Single room - a room with one single bed for one person. Twin room - a room with two single beds for two persons. Double room - a room with one double bed for two persons. Triple room - a room with three single beds, or double bed plus an extra bed. The third bed may be a rollaway (non-permanent) one depending on each property?s room arrangement. Extra bed - often suitable for a child under the age of 18 years, but may be suitable for adults too. Suite - two combined rooms ? bedroom and living room. Ensuite - Rooms have bath or shower and toilet. Showers are often over bath. Dormitory - a common usage of the term ?dormitory? is for a large room with many single beds that share facilities. Apartments - are designed to offer accommodation which is more substantial and similar in some ways to being a ?home?. They normally range from containing one to four separate bedrooms, with a separate lounge area and bathroom. Apartments also contain a full kitchen or a scaled down version known as a ?kitchenette?. |
